I was born and raised in Bakersfield where my wife and I were brought together through mutual friends and swing dance classes. We moved to the San Francisco Bay Area a few years after being married in 2000 to pursue a career in retail and custom printing. After spending ten years in the print business I decided it was time to shift gears and find the second love of my life. It happened that I had recently vacationed through California's Central Coast wine region and unknowingly began an affair with wine before leaving the printing business mentioned above. As I began to pursue wine more and more I caught wind of wine classes being offered by the Professional Culinary Institute in Campbell, Ca. I started taking the certified sommelier courses at my next opportunity and, as of June '09, am recognized by the Court of Master Sommeliers as a Certified Sommelier. With hopes of starting up my own wine bar down the road I have been brought back to Bakersfield to be close to my future partners. Currently I am looking to David and Tami of Imbibe wines, as well as you our customer, to help mentor me, setting me in the right direction to achieve my future goals.
